Hmm, the new video from the Weeknd looks pretty cool:
Its by the Hardcore Henry guy, hence the FPS feel. Though it does seem like its a commercial for some sort of bank heist game.
TV commentary:
Carmilla- So this is finished. Heh, the fact that there's a movie coming kinda spoiled things, but whatever. I mean, we know Laura and Carmilla were both alive in the future, so obviously neither of them was dying for real. Heh, part of me wonder if they released the trailer beforehand because people are so frustrated with the dead lesbian trope in 2016 that with Laura mortally wounded in the next to last video, they had to give people hope lest they just stop watching out of anger and take up arms before actually finishing the series up.
In any case, the ending was nice, though a little clunky, but what else do you expect from a web series, its not exactly big budget. But they managed well. But yeah, I get they wanted Laura and Carmilla alone for the big climax, but it still makes Perry and Laf look bad. Its like, "Oh no, Laura had her heart ripped out! That kinda sucks, lets walk over here and patch ourselves up!" I mean, granted, Laf got their eye ripped out, and Perry just got unpossessed, but still I'm skeptical they wouldn't be right there along side Carmilla crying over Laura!
I guess Laf was mad over JP's death and Hollstein's plan to kill Perry to kill the Dean, all its okay to sacrifice people Laf cares about, but Laura and Carmilla wouldn't put each other in the chopping block. But that should've hit Laf more then, that Laura basically died to try and find a way to stop the Dean without killing Perry.
We find out the Dean is trying to open the gates of hell to get back to some lost love. Losing this love is what made her bitter and evil. So Laura (who's heart became the fourth talisman because when Vordenberg died, the talisman's properties moved to the next nearby worthy vessel, Laura) in her dying moments hugs her to I guess free her from her rage and allow her to ascend again, while freeing Perry.
But whatever, as I said, we all knew Hollstein were fine in the future, so we knew Laura was going to somehow be alive again. Though I guess what wasn't spoiled was that Carm is also alive. As in, human again. And then Carm plays one of the death goddesses' games for Laura's life, and it looks like she went easy on Carm. So Laura comes back to life, and the two of them can live human lives together.
Other stuff, I guess Danny just runs off? She returns Kirsch, because she does care for him because he always still believed in her, even when she turned into the Dean's henchwoman. But she's said beforehand she's taking herself out of the fight. After dying for what she felt was nothing, all the heroics she had been doing before felt foolish. Hence her anger, but Kirsch was able to reground her. So with him safe with the gang, she took off to I guess figure her life out.
