Better Call Saul- Heh, what are the chances?! Mike tries to snipe Hector Salamanca, but somehow Nacho is in his shot the whole time. And then Mike hears the horn from his car go off and finds a note saying "don't". Who left the note? Fring? The timing is kinda crazy, since the horn went off after he missed his opportunity. Did they know Nacho was blocking the shot. Was the note leaver working with Nacho, and had Nacho protect Hector the whole time? But that would imply they knew were Mike was shooting from, and thought he wouldn't decide to kill Nacho just to get to Hector.
Getting to Jimmy's story. He does rush in to help his brother, which Chuck does notice later, and tries to get him on that, but luckily, Ernesto lies and says he had given Jimmy the heads up and had called him earlier to come. Then we have a half hour of Chuck being a big baby about his crazy in his head condition in the hospital, and Jimmy has to get a temporary order in place so Jimmy can force Chuck to get the tests he needs. Chuck thinks Jimmy is going to use that to finally commit him, but Jimmy indeed proves it was only a temporary measure, he just wanted to get his brother help.
Anyways, we find out Chuck has a deep seated jealousy of Jimmy. I mean, we kinda got that from that one time where they had a dinner and Jimmy totally charmed Chuck's gf. But we get a flashback to when their mom was on their deathbed, and they had been by her side for three days straight, and Jimmy wanted to get them some food. Which is a fair thing to do- yes, their mom is dying, but if she was conscious, I doubt she would want them forgoing food just to wait. Chuck's afraid of missing something, but passing out from lack of sleep and food could also make them miss her dying moments! At the very least, he should've suggested Jimmy call someone to get them food.
So Jimmy leaves, and their mom regains conscious one last time and calls out for him, and Chuck says he's there, but she could give a shit (HA!) and then expires. He's the good son, who waited, and yet their mom wanted to see Jimmy more. And wow, dick move, not only does he not call Jimmy about it, letting him find out when he walks into a empty hospital room (how long was he gone?!), he neglects to tell Jimmy their mom called for him.
You know what, fuck that guy! I get he gets frustrated at Jimmy being the bad son and getting away with stuff, and everyone loves him while Chuck follows the rules and is not as cool. But jealousy is ugly. And its not like its a bad life. Its like "oh no, Jimmy takes short cuts and still struggles, yet I have to have this high paying lawyer job! Woe is me!"
And unlike Breaking Bad, its not like Jimmy is selling drugs. Sure, he's doing some unethical things, lawyer wise, but as he assures Chuck, he did not do the Mesa Verde thing to make Chuck look like a fool. Kim was unhappy at the firm, she got them Mesa Verde in the hopes of it leading to something better, but they were still screwing her over. And she needed that client. I mean, I get they're running a business, but they couldn't give one client up to help out someone they considered a friend, who slaved away for them for years? As Jimmy says, it wasn't hurting anyone, except their rich pockets. Pricks!
But oops, Chuck takes a page from Jimmy's book and gets all dramatic, retiring and telling Jimmy because his disease has made him dumb, and Jimmy, being the caring brother he is, finally admits to what he did to try and get his brother not to quit law. And what does Jimmy get for this act? His brother secretly recording him. And ugh, Chuck had the recorder under some aluminum or whatever, and lifted it up with tongs. Heh, I get he's mentally ill, but still I can't help but eye-roll at him thinking he has a real condition. Get over it!
