Vampire Diaries- Ah, so we finally learn about where Bonnie and Damon are. Apparently Kai is short for Malachi. He was a member of the previously mentioned Gemini coven. Or his family was. He actually butchered his siblings because he's a freaking psychopath, and Bamon are in his prison. He needs their help to get out for some reason. Something suspicious is going on here though- because apparently he's kinda a magic vampire and he says and shows he can suck Bonnie's magic and use it. He claims he could just suck away all her magic, killing her in the process, kill Damon for shits and giggles and get out himself. But he still thinks they can get out together.
He must need them, because they already established he's a psychopath who killed his own siblings, why would he decide to work with them? Why doesn't he just take Bonnie's magic and kill them? So they have to know its got to be an idle threat.
Also, he makes Damon tell the story of what he did on that day they're repeating. So, back in '94, Damon came back to MF to mess with Stefan again. He gets uncle Zack and the rest of Stefan's friends off vervain, so he can start feeding on them. (Also, he hits on young Liz, which is HILARIOUS to see her back then.) One of Stefan's friends includes Zack's pregnant, African American gf, so yeah, it was pretty obvious Zack is Sarah's father. We get confirmation at the end of the ep, but yep, Sarah's a Salvatore.
Anyways, Stefan snaps Damon's neck when he figures out his shenanigans, takes away his daylight ring and locks him in a shed during the day until he can behave. Unfortunately, that pesky eclipse happened, and he escaped, and killed everyone but Zack then takes his leave. So, Stefan compels Zack to forget he even knocked someone up, then takes the preggers corpse to the hospital, where they're actually able to save baby Sarah, and he flees MF for 15 years, until the start of the series.
Interestingly enough, this incident is what restarts the Founder's council.
In the real world, Stefan and Elena hang out, and they both seem okay, but as soon as Elena leaves, Stefan picks a bar fight (or rather, there's a guy there who wants to fight him because he beat up his brother and friends previously, and he decides to speed up the confrontation). So Elena shows back up all, "What the eff?" and he admits, yes, he is still secretly miserable and not over his brother's death, and eff her for telling him to do a better job of getting over it, and spills the beans about her making Alaric forget her.
So she asks Alaric about it, who shows her her Delena box, which includes a diary entry from her all, "If you're reading this, someone spilled the beans, I'm guessing Caroline" her non-compelled self implores her not to restore her memories, to find a new life without Damon, and so she tells Alaric to hold on to the box, but not to restore her memories just yet.
Matt goes to spy on Tripp, acting like he's oblivious to vampires and letting Tripp "introduce" him to this supernatural world. And they explain why Tripp has shown up all of a sudden, yet be unaware of the Salvatores or the rest of the MF gang, or Liz being a turncoat. So when the Grill blew up, he came back to MF to check on his grandma. And so he crossed the border, and his compulsion went away- it turns out his wife was killed by a vamp, and he was compelled by a vamp to forget and leave MF.
Interesting, I wonder who it is? It can't be Stefan, otherwise he would've recognized him. Damon seems like the only other logical choice, since Alaric and the girls wouldn't have been vamps at the time. But that seems so prosaic. Damon is a bad guy, but it would be lame for him to be responsible for every bad thing that happened to any character.
Finally, looks like Ivy is not so dead. Enzo apparently fed her his blood before he snapped her neck, so now she's back, having recently fed and totally oblivious of her new situation.
