TV commentary:
Legend of Korra- Well, it wasn't unexpected. To no one's surprise, Kuvira refuses to hand power back, talking about the decadence of the previous monarchs leading to the bad state of affairs the Earth Kingdom was in. All, we should change for the future and get rid of such antiquated notions. And, she seems to have a lot of support from the Earth nation citizens because she has made life better for a lot of them.
Bolin had some concerns, but she's all, she's just talking tough. And he parrots those words to Mako when he asks Bolin, "what the eff?!". Its interesting, because honestly, its hard for Mako to give Bolin a strong argument. Its messed up that Kuvira just seized power, but he knows what a piece of shit Prince Wu is. Would he really be willing to put up a fight to get that guy in place?!
Suyin is of course livid at the turn of events, and Kuvira makes not so veiled threats at her city if she refuses to cooperate. Because of this troubling turn of events, Tenzin sends his kids to find and recover Korra.
And what's she doing this ep? Studying under and getting her ass kicked by Toph. Eventually, Toph says Korra still has some of that metal poison in her, and tries to get it out, but Korra keeps on freaking out when she tries to. Eventually, Toph says eff it and Korra can get it out herself- she claims Korra is resisting because she doesn't want the poison out of her. Because then she can have an excuse not to be the Avatar and to duck all the danger and responsibility.
Other stuff, Eska and her brother (heh, I don't actually remember his name and I'm too lazy to look it up) are at the coronation, so she and Bolin have an awkward convo wherein she thought Kuvira was his new gf. I was kinda hoping Opal would be there just to see the fur fly. Heh, also, at first I thought they were going for a creepy incest thing when the hotel was all, "You and your brother requested only one room, with one bed!" but she said her brother would be sleeping in the tub.
Of course, I don't know if that's her being bossy and scary that she'd just make her brother sleep in the tub while she got the comfortable bed, or since he's a water bender, it might not actually be that outlandish to sleep in a tub. Like could a water bender lie on a tub of water as if it were a water bed?
