TV commentary:
Legend of Korra- Heh, I get that characters are supposed to have flaws, but does everyone have to be so frustrating?! Man, Korra was pissing me off. But thankfully at the end of the ep she saw the error of her ways and made up with her parents. Too bad her uncle shows up to arrest her parents at the end. Which makes no sense to me, because until that point he seemed to be playing it smart.
Like Unalaq did have a clever reason for bringing the northern troops down there. All, "Oh, with the portal opened, we need to protect it!" I mean, its still pretty transparent to the audience what he's doing. But its sounds reasonable! And he seemed to be doing a good job of keeping the avatar on his side. So why the EFF would he go after her parents?! Its like, way to throw all you worked for away!
I did like the stuff with Tenzin in his siblings. At least he's flawed in a way that's not as frustrating as Korra can be. Its definitely interesting to see how strained the relationship was between him and his siblings. I mean, its obvious Bumi has some resentment towards his brother and sisters because they were benders and he wasn't. And both he and Kya were totally jealous of Tenzin. Like, he acts like he's the good one and says he's responsible for a great legacy, and he doesn't even realize how shitty he sounds there. As his siblings said, he's not the only child of Aang. Yeah, he's the only airbender, but doesn't he see how crappy that makes Kya and Bumi feels when he says that?
Also, its kinda interesting that they're making Aang out to be kinda a shitty father- he was off doing avatar stuff, so he didn't spend as much time with Kya and Bumi, but even worse, since Tenzin could air bend, he got all the attention. Like sure, at the time Tenzin and Aang were the only two air benders, but its still pretty fucked up that he was playing obvious favorites.
